President Abdel Fattah Al -Sisi affirmed that Egypt’s full rejection of the monoism in the eastern Nile Basin, stressing that whoever believes that Egypt will turn a blind eye to its water rights, it is wrong .. He said, “The water file is part of the pressure campaign against Egypt to achieve other goals and we are aware of this matter, and that Egypt always stands against interference in the affairs of others, destruction, destruction or conspiracy against anyone and seeks to build, reconstruction, development, and we are the Africans We suffer from fighting. ”
President Sisi said – in a speech at the joint press conference with his Ugandan counterpart, Yuria Museveni, at the Federal Palace today – that the volume of water in the White and Blue Nile Basin reaches annually to 1600 billion cubic meters, a large part that loses forests, swamps, evaporation, groundwater, and only a simple part that reaches the Nile.

President Al -Sisi pointed out that the Nile water file was the subject of a long discussion with the President of the Republic of Uganda, Yuria Museveni, stressing the importance of water and development for the Nile Basin countries, stressing that Egypt does not oppose any achievement of any development of partners and brothers in the Nile Basin countries, but Egypt’s only problem is that this development does not affect the volume of water that reaches Egypt.
President Sisi added that Egypt only talks about about 85 billion cubic meters of Egypt and Sudan’s share of the Nile water, which represents only about 4%of the total. He said, “We want to cooperate together in order to achieve the stability of our country and Egypt does not have other resources of water and large amounts of rain will fall on it, and if we abandon this part, this means that we abandon our lives.”
President Al -Sisi pointed out that Egypt does not refuse to benefit from the Nile water for the brothers, whether in the process of development, agriculture or electricity production, and that Egypt is counting on the efforts of the Seven Committee headed by Uganda to reach a consensus between the Nile Basin countries.
President Al -Sisi explained, “Whoever falls with rain does not feel what the rain and the Egyptians do not have anxiety in this regard, but I am responsible for coordination with other presidents to find a solution that does not affect the lives of the Egyptians,” stressing that the awareness and solidity of the Egyptians are the main pillar to confront any possible challenge or threat.
