Tustamasters Ayoub Asad confirmed that the second edition of the “I am a leader 2” program included for the first time all kinds of disabilities, including auditory, motor, visual, mental and Down syndrome, with the participation of 20 trainees.
He explained that the program included field visits to governmental and private bodies to highlight the ability of those with determination to achieve and succeed in various fields, and to apply leadership and rhetorical skills in work environments and society, away from limiting the closed halls.
A noticeable development in the capabilities of the participants
Ayoub Asad indicated that the participants showed a big difference in courage and confidence since the beginning of the program, as they are able to confront the audience and talk about themselves and their talents fluently. He stated that the first version of the program witnessed the training of 30 participants from the determination.
A positive impact on the construction of the character
For his part, Dr. Hassan Al -Musami, a coach in the program, that the initiative allows those with determination to express their feelings and show their real personalities, which enhances their self -confidence and their ability to speak in front of the audience. He stressed that the development was evident in the start of the participants, their ability to accept criticism, and the argument about their ideas and convictions.
Participants experiences
The participant, Talal Faisal, said that he learned to formulate introductions, write texts and speak to the audience, which increased his confidence and broke the barrier of fear and shame. As for Hussein Saeed Ashour, he confirmed that the program enabled him to discuss and express himself, and that the workshops were enjoyable and useful.
Incorporation of people with Down syndrome and teaching appearance skills
The journalist, coach Issa Morgan, indicated that this version merged a greater number of Down syndrome, and also trained the participants to appear on social media with confidence and tact.
Pioneer program in Bahrain
“I am a leader” is the first program of its kind in Bahrain that is concerned with enabling people with determination in the fields of communication and leadership. It extends for five weeks of intense training, and includes workshops in display skills, preparation of discourse, improvisation, and body language, under the supervision of professional coaches from Tustamasters clubs.
The goals of the second version
– Enabling the participants to act effective communication and build an influential presence in front of the public.
Developing leadership capabilities in planning, building team, decision -making, and motivating others.
Rehabilitation of participants for the labor market and community participation with confidence and professionalism.
The program concludes with a rhetorical ceremony in which the participants present their projects, in a move to consolidate their confidence and qualify them for leadership roles in society.
