The Ministry of Health and Population announced, through the Central Administration of NGOs and Licensing, the closure of a “fitness and obesity” center for obesity and thinness in the Iraqi region in the martyrs center in Menoufia Governorate, to operate it without an official license, within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to tighten control of private medical facilities.

This procedure comes in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, to enhance control over private medical facilities and clinics, with the aim of protecting the health and safety of citizens and ensuring the provision of safe medical services and conforming to the standards.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s spokesperson, explained that the Free Treatment Department team in Menoufia Governorate conducted an inspection of the center, as it was found that it was managed by a woman who is affiliated with a doctor and practiced the profession without a legal license. He pointed out that she provided organic carnat and practicing a profession issued by non -approved bodies from the ministry, in addition to operating the center without obtaining the necessary licenses, in an explicit violation of Law No. 153 of 2004 regulating the work of medical facilities.
During the inspection, the aforementioned personality was monitored to conduct a medical examination of patients and prescribe medications and treatments using unlicensed medical devices dedicated to slimming, and smuggled and unknown medications were seized inside the center.
For his part, Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration of NGOs and Licensing, confirmed that the center has been closed and fully closed, while seizing the seizures in coordination with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, and editing a report of the incident to present it to the Public Prosecution to take legal measures. He called on the citizens to ensure the licensing of private centers and clinics and from licenses to practice the profession for its workers before receiving treatment, to ensure that safe and reliable medical services are obtained.
Zaki affirmed the continuation of intensive regulatory campaigns at the level of the Republic, with the aim of ensuring commitment to legal and health standards, and protecting citizens from illegal practices that may expose them to health risks.
