The Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Ismail Al -Thawabta, revealed that the volume of actual aid that reaches citizens in the Gaza Strip does not exceed 3% of the daily needs of about 2.4 million people, including more than a million Palestinian children, despite Israel’s pledges to open the crossings since July 27.
In statements to the media, Al -Thawabta said that Gaza hospitals are still registering daily deaths due to famine and food lack, the last of which was 5 victims – including two children – during the past 24 hours, so that the death toll due to hunger and malnutrition increased to 217 martyrs, including 100 children, in a scene that reflects the depth of the tragedy and the continuation of the siege and starvation policy practiced by the Israeli government.
On the real number of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid that actually enter the Gaza Strip, it was noted that only 1210 auxiliary trucks entered Gaza within 14 days, out of 8400 supposed trucks, equivalent to 14% of the actual needs.
He added that most of these trucks were looted and robbed in light of the security chaos that the Israeli army creates as part of a systematic policy of what he called “starvation and chaos.”
The constants stressed that Israel is trying to use this situation as a tool for political pressure and liquidating the Palestinian issue by imposing its field and humanitarian conditions on the trapped population.
