Merging the advantages within the Home application
Over the past period, Google has transferred many functions from the old NST application to the Home application, the most prominent of which was the temperature scheduling for old thermos devices, a step that reduced the dependence of users significantly on the previous application, and with the addition of hot water control, the Home app becomes closer to being the only platform for managing all devices.
The final stage of the test
Anish Katocaran, chief product official in Google Home and NST, confirmed that the hot water control feature has reached the stage of final tests, and it is scheduled to appear in the coming versions of the application, and this statement came after the notes of the users who pointed to the absence of this feature despite the recent updates, which some considered a lack of comparing the interface of the new application with the old.
How will the new feature will work
The new feature of users allows hot water control through multiple options such as setting a schedule for water heating, or activating the rapid reinforcement feature when needed, operating and manual stopping, in the event that the thermostat is connected to a compatible water system, and so far access to these functions requires relying on the old NST application, but Google seeks to end this need.

The addition of hot water control comes within the Google strategy to unify all smart home functions in one application, which makes it easier for users to manage their homes from one central place without the need to switch between different applications, and with every new update the Home app is approaching to become the unified interface for the smart home system.
