Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director General of the General Administration for the implementation of alternative judgments and penalties, received a delegation from the employees of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the friendly United States of America, as part of their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting, Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa welcomed the delegation, stressing that the project of alternative penalties and open prisons represents one of the pioneering initiatives emanating from the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and has the support of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, along with the guidance of the first team His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, which contributed to the success of the project and achieve its goals.
The meeting reviewed the most prominent goals and achievements of the project, including educational and training programs and rehabilitation plans aimed at reforming the beneficiaries and reintegrating them in society in a positive way.
The delegation also toured the facilities of the Open Prison Complex, which included educational buildings equipped with the latest technologies, and residential units that provide various living services, in addition to the sports club, where they were briefed on the efforts made to qualify the beneficiaries according to the highest standards.
