The Gender Balance Committee of the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, in cooperation with the Public Prosecution, organized a dialogue session entitled “The role of the Public Prosecution in Family and Child Protection”, presented by Mrs. Nour Abdullah Shehab, head of the prosecution of the Appeal Prosecution, in conjunction with the twenty -fourth anniversary of the founding of the Supreme Council for Women, and within the framework of the council’s keenness to raise the level of legal awareness among employees, and enhance the awareness of the laws and legislations related to family affairs. And protect its members from various forms of violence and violations, and enhance an integrated understanding of the role of judicial institutions, led by the Public Prosecution, in preserving the social fabric and ensuring societal justice.
The dialogue session dealt with a number of axes on the legislative framework of the Family Law, the mechanisms of institutional support for the application of law, the protection tools stipulated in the law, and the importance of enhancing societal awareness about the law.
The dialogue session comes within the plans and initiatives of the Gender Balance Committee in the General Secretariat of the Shura Council, directed to enhance awareness of the goals undertaken by the committee, and to achieve more progress in job performance in a framework of cooperation and effective partnership.
