Egypt has 16 ships to transport strategic goods … and a plan to create 7 logistical corridors linking production areas to the ports

He added that the state seeks to increase this number to 21 new ships, while starting to replace the old ships over 30 years old, noting that the construction of two ships has already been contracted with large loads.

The Minister explained, during his follow -up to the arrival of giant cranes of the Hacheson International Station in Al Ain Sokhna Port, that the government aims to enhance the movement of trade by establishing 7 logistical corridors linking the productive and industrial areas to export ports, whether marine or dry, as well as logistics centers, while linking it to sustainable transportation such as the rapid electric train.

The team, the entire minister, pointed out that these corridors will maximize the benefit of Egyptian ports, and keep pace with the establishment of dry ports and modern logistical areas.

He explained that the global company Hachson was keen to benefit from the integrated logistical corridor (Sokhna – Alexandria), which starts from the port of Sokhna on the Red Sea through the port of the tenth of Ramadan dry and the logistical area and connecting them to the rail network through the Rubiki line – the tenth of Ramadan – Belbeis with a length of 63.5 km, to the industrial areas of the sixth of October City, then the Grand Port of Alexandria.
