Egypt and Uzbekistan agree to exchange drug experiences and develop bilateral partnership

Dr. Ali Al -Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, held a virtual meeting with representatives of the corresponding authority in the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Mr. Al -Yashir Timirov, head of the Pharmaceutical Product Safety Center (CPPS), within the framework of the authority’s efforts to enhance international cooperation in the field of medicine, and to discuss ways to develop bilateral partnership and support organizational cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting witnessed the discussion of the prospects for joint cooperation, especially in the areas of exchanging organizational and technical expertise, and the coordination of efforts aimed at developing the pharmaceutical system and enhancing regulatory capabilities.

During his speech, Dr. Ali Al -Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, stressed that the authority pays special attention to building bridges of cooperation with international partners, as this is a basic pillar for achieving pharmaceutical security, stressing that the exchange of organizational and technical expertise contributes to developing the pharmaceutical system in a way that keeps pace with global developments.

Al -Ghamrawi pointed out that during the past years, the authority has made tangible steps in the areas of modernizing regulations and enhancing technical and scientific capabilities, which enhances Egypt’s position as a regional and pivotal supporter in the drug sector, as he expressed his aspiration for this meeting to constitute the beginning of a fruitful strategic partnership between the two countries, based on exchanging experiences and knowledge and building new cooperation prospects that serve the common interests of the two countries, and contribute to achieving sustainable health development.

For their part, representatives of the Uzbek side praised the progress made by the Egyptian Drug Authority in developing regulatory and organizational systems, expressing their desire to benefit from the leading Egyptian experience, and affirm their keenness to build a long -term strategic partnership that serves the common interest of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority, Dr. Amani Jawdat, the assistant head of the authority and the supervisor of the Central Administration of the Office of the Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Osama Hatem, Associate Chairman of the Authority for Policies and International Cooperation and the supervisor of the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Support, and Dr. Dalia Abu Hussein, Director General of the General Administration for Quality Assurance.

On the Uzbek side, Mr. Pharakh Yoldashif, a first specialist in the Department of International Relations, and Ms. Madina Garabaova, a first specialist in information and analysis management, in addition to representatives of the Uzbek embassy in Cairo.

This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Authority’s keenness to continue its leading and international role in the field of drug organization, and to enhance its presence as a major partner in building strong health systems capable of achieving sustainable development.
