The Turkish club Galata Saray ended its interest in including the Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson Morais, after the cost of the deal reached huge numbers, which made the continued negotiations out of the Turkish league champions to support the goalkeeper in the current Mercato.
A huge salary stops the deal
According to the Turkish newspaper “Al -Sabah”, the Galata Saray administration decided to retract the contract with Ederson, after its total cost exceeded the 50 million euros barrier, a value that exceeds the salary ceiling and contracts set by the club.
The proposed deal included paying 20 million euros to Manchester City as a transfer value, along with a huge annual salary of 10 million euros annually, with a contract that extends for three seasons, which makes the total salary up to 30 million euros.
Why did Galata Saray refused to include Ederson?
Galata Saray refused to enter into a financial bid that may be blessed, especially since the Brazilian goalkeeper is 31 years old, and he remains in his contract with Manchester City in a season, as it ends in June 2026, giving the English club a preference in negotiating and not urgently selling.
Ederson .. a bus career with Manchester City
Since his arrival at Al -Ittihad stadium in the summer of 2017 from Benfica Portuguese, Ederson has imposed himself as one of the most important elements of the Pep Guardiola system, and one of the best world guards.
The Brazilian goalkeeper played 332 official matches in the Manchester City shirt in all competitions, during which he succeeded in maintaining the cleanliness of his nets on 149 occasions, with a rate of 44.8%, which reflects the stability of its level and its technical and tactical superiority.
Is Manchester City think about selling Ederson in the future?
Although the deal was not completed, the offer submitted by Galata Saray revealed the readiness of some clubs to pay huge sums in exchange for Ederson’s services, which may push Manchester City to reassess the future of the player during the coming seasons, especially with his age and the end of his contract.
