My chest is overwhelmed when I read a news concerned with taking legal measures against people who practiced administrative and financial corruption, people who gave confidence, and were placed in sites to serve the country and citizens, and they were supposed to diligence and work with live consciences.
Fighting administrative and financial corruption, an approach adopted by our dear country, set a specific device and a hotline, and gave citizens the right to report with the statement of evidence and confirmation, at a time when the government operates on its part to scrutinize the functioning of matters in its typical form, and to address any cases that include suspicions of corruption. Recently, the Financial Crime Prosecution and money laundering announced the completion of investigations into a case related to the abuse of position and the infringement of public money, and the referral of the defendants to the Grand Criminal Court, reflecting the state’s intention to fight all forms of corruption, and confirms that accounting does not exclude anyone.
Public money is not reduced to financial numbers within the budget, but rather represents a basic national resource on which development work is based. It is a trust in the neck of every official and employee, his maintenance is an ethical and professional duty to ensure continued services and achieve social justice.
The attack on these resources is a violation of the confidence of society and the state, and a betrayal of the responsibilities that were involved in the positions. Accounting is not just a legal action, but rather a necessity to protect the rights of citizens and enhance the principle of equal opportunities.
Facing corruption is not limited to addressing attempts to seize public money, but rather requires officials a permanent commitment to a fair professional behavior, and a clear rejection of any wrong administrative practices, no matter how simple it appears. Hence, it is the duty of every official to work with a living conscience, and to ensure an administrative environment based on justice, and reject injustice and marginalization.
Many of the issues of corruption and betrayal of the trust that were dealt with by the competent authorities did not obtain sufficient media coverage, and that may make a general impression that there is a slowdown in accounting or that some of those who exceeded in safe, and this is not true based on the facts we know.
