Deputy Prime Minister opens the new building of the Abdullah bin Khaled College for Islamic Studies

In a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Education this morning, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court, the team, the doctor of Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and a number of His Highness, Happiness and Virtue.

On this occasion, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed the highest verses of thanks and great gratitude to the high position of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Country, may God protect and preserve him, so that His Majesty preferred to launch the name of the late, God Almighty, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, over a number of government facilities, including the College of Islamic Studies The service of the homeland and the Islamic religion, and what he embodied throughout his career is a firm commitment to spreading legal science, calling for authentic Islamic values, defending national constants, and strengthening Bahrain’s presence in scientific and intellectual forums.

He pointed out that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him, prefer to sponsor the opening ceremony of this college, as an extension of his honorable approach to supporting the education process, and to give higher education institutions in its various specializations, all attention and care, based on the firm belief in its pivotal role in building the conscious Bahraini person armed with science and knowledge, and is related to the values of his religion and national identity.

He stressed that the inauguration of the new building of the Abdullah bin Khaled College for Islamic Studies is a milestone in the march of this academic edifice, and reflects the attention that the government attaches to creating modern educational environments, equipped with the latest facilities and technologies, in a way that allows students and members of the academic and administrative bodies broader opportunities for creativity and scientific research.

He pointed to the role of the college in providing society with outputs that combine depth in the legal sciences and the ability to absorb the requirements of the times, while adhering to the values of moderation and moderation, and calling for tolerance and dialogue, in a way that contributes to enhancing intellectual security and consolidating national unity.

He also appreciated the sincere efforts made by the Board of Trustees of Abdullah bin Khalid for Islamic Studies headed by His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and all employees of the college, in order to implement its sublime mission in accordance with the highest academic quality standards, calling on students to seize what the college provides from an advanced educational environment and sober curricula, to develop their scientific and intellectual capabilities, and devote their efforts to the service of religion and the homeland.

During the ceremony, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Abdullah bin Khaled College for Islamic Studies, delivered a speech in which he emphasized the care and care that the educational process receives in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the support the government attaches to the permanent development in implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, may God protect him.

He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister for his preference to attend the opening ceremony of the college, pointing to the attention that the government attaches to the development of infrastructure for educational institutions, in line with the requirements of the present and the aspirations of the future and the priorities of comprehensive development, and enhances care and interest in the legal and religious sciences and students of science from students in these specialties.

The Minister of Education said: “Today we remember the great late Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, his great national contributions as a state, preacher, thinker and historian, playing a major role in documenting the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain and highlighting its civilized legacy and preserving the national memory, to be a beacon for the generations of the present and the future, which reflects the pride of the Kingdom The loyal to great contributions, the achievements they have achieved, and the intellectual heritage and fingerprints they left will remain registered and established in the memory of generations from the people of the country, to have an incentive towards giving and giving.

The Minister affirmed that this academic edifice enhances the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a scientific and intellectual center, stressing the commitment of the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council to continue supporting the college, and providing an advanced educational environment that contributes to the graduation of qualified national competencies. It is noteworthy that the new building of the Abdullah bin Khaled College for Islamic Studies has been built on a 4,177 square meter land, with a building area of 3,567 square meters.

The building consists of three floors that include seven academic halls equipped with the latest e -learning tools, and it accommodates 300 male and female students, in addition to a reception hall, registration and security offices, entertainment and training halls, sports activities, conferences, meetings and student rest, an integrated library in various educational sources, a computer laboratory, in addition to employee offices, and a chapel.

The college was established by Decree No. (55) for the year 2018 with the aim of preparing intellectual competencies that are able to enhance the Arab and Islamic identity, consolidate the climate of freedom and cultural pluralism, and respect the values of citizenship and belonging,

According to the principles of Islamic law and its established values derived from the Noble Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet. The college began its academic activities in 2019 by accepting the first batch of students, with a current number of students, 240 male and female students, and three payments graduated so far, within academic programs that include Islamic Sharia specialties, Islamic banking, family and legitimate rights.
