Deputy Minister of Health inspects Egypt’s Children’s Hospital to follow up on development work and quality of medical services

Dr. Mohamed Al -Tayeb, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, inspected Egypt’s Children’s Hospital of the General Authority for Health Insurance, to follow up the work of raising efficiency and expansion in the new departments, and to ensure the quality of medical services provided to patients.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Mustafa, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, Dr. Ahmed Atta, Head of the Central Department for Medical Affairs, Dr. Sayed Jalal, Director of the Health Insurance Branch in Cairo, Dr. Eid Al -Attar, Hospital Director, and Dr. Ahmed Omar, Director General of Internal Review and Governance.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the tour started with the visit of the nurseries department, which can accommodate 20 nurseries, where the deputy minister reassured the medical teams, and directed to provide them with the necessary training, and overcome any obstacles, while emphasizing the commitment to the dates of work.

He explained that the deputy minister completed his tour by visiting the Department of Blood Diseases and the Hemophilia Center, which monthly receives 2500 patients with hematology and 4 thousand hemophilia patients, where he spoke with the families of the patients to ensure their satisfaction with services, and receive their praises of the quality of the care provided, and the new intensive care unit includes 16 beds, including 3 beds for children’s surgeries and an insulation bed, along with the cardiac catheter unit It receives 50 patients per month, and the catheter care unit includes 9 beds.

He added that the tour included the inspection of the CT scans and radiology department, as the Deputy Minister directed to accelerate the digital transformation to ensure the accuracy and safety of the data, in addition to visiting the factory and confirming it from the efficiency of the devices and training technicians.

Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the deputy minister visited the outpatient waiting area, which receives 30 thousand patients per month, and listened to the families of the patients to ensure their consent and solve any challenges, directed to solve waiting problems. It also inspected the sugar treatment center, the clinic pharmacy to ensure the availability of medications, and the emergency department, which receives 3000 patients per month, while emphasizing maintenance of elevators and enhancing hygiene and security.

He pointed out that the hospital, which extends over an area of ​​4,520 square meters, includes 150 internal beds and 16 concentrated care beds, and provides distinguished medical services that include heart and chest surgeries, cardiac catheterization, intensive care, hemophilia and hemophilia, nurseries for premature infants, and children’s surgeries in various disciplines, including bones, spine, brain and nerves, ophthalmology, face and jaws.
