The Bahraini Journalists Association’s Board of Directors announces that it is a pursuant to the statute.
It is scheduled that the general assembly of the association will be held at the graduate club headquarters next Saturday in order to discuss the literary report and the financial report and the election of the Chairman and members of the Board of Directors for the next new session.
In order to achieve transparency and integrity, the Board of Directors decided to form a tripartite committee from outside the members of the Council to examine and check the requests of the candidates to consider the extent of its fulfillment of the conditions of membership and the conditions of candidacy.
The Board of Directors invited the Human Rights Control Association to monitor the progress of the election process as stipulated in the statute and the failure of any violations.
The number of candidates and candidates for the presidency and membership of the Board of Directors so far has reached 13 candidates and candidates.
Issa Al -Shaiji, the current president of the association and chairman of the editorial board of the Al -Ayyam newspaper, was applied to the position of the Board of Directors. On the other hand, six media and journalists were nominated for membership of the Council, Maryam Anwar Ahmed, Hind Ahmed Karam, Marwa Khamis Al -Akrawi, Rasha Al -Ibrahim, Lulwa Boudlama and Yasmine Al -Aqidat alongside Rashid Al -Hamr, Muhammad Bahr, Saeed Muhammad, Faisal Al -Ali and Saud Al -Jowder.
The president of the association is held separately from the members of the Board of Directors, who are elected collectively, according to the statute of the Bahraini Journalists Association.
The association announced the opening of the candidacy for the next session from Friday before last, with applications officially submitted to the Board of Directors via e -mail: (Email Protected), in compliance with the provisions of the statute.
The meeting schedule is scheduled to include discussion of the literary and financial reports, followed by submitting the resignation of the current board of directors, in preparation for the election of a new council. It is required for the meeting that the member must pay his annual participation.
