Today, the Chinese authorities again launched two yellow warnings to face rainstorms and high temperatures that hit large areas of the country.
The Chinese Meteorological Center stated in a statement that a number of regions may witness heavy rains from today to tomorrow (Sunday), including parts of the internal Mongolia, Hilongjiang, Jelin and Shanghai, as it will be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, with the possibility of rating up to 70 mm per hour in some areas.
He urged the local authorities to take the necessary precautions and examine water drainage networks in cities, agricultural lands, and fish raising basins, to reduce the effects of storms.
In a related context, the center also renewed a yellow warning to face the heat wave, noting that the temperatures may exceed 40 degrees Celsius in a number of areas, including some parts of Shenchi, Sichuan, Chongtching, and the Torban basin in Xinjiang, calling on the residents to take preventive measures.
The Chinese warning system works from weather conditions at four levels: the “red” red, followed by orange, then yellow, and finally blue, according to the severity of the climatic phenomenon.
