The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced on Monday that about 28 children are killed daily in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the Israeli shelling and starvation that has been going on for more than 660 days.
The organization said, in a statement, that the children in Gaza face death “by bombing, malnutrition, hunger, lack of aid and vital services,” and said: “In Gaza, an average of 28 children is killed daily, i.e. the size of one class.”
The UN organization stressed that «Gaza children need food, water, medicine and protection. And most of all, they need a ceasefire now. ”
In the context, the United Nations said that more than 1500 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since last May during their attempts to obtain food, and at the distribution points of aid that Israel was “hated” and along the United Nations aid.
During the last twenty -four hours, the Ministry of Health has recorded 6 new deaths as a result of famine and malnutrition, noting that all hunger victims have increased from the beginning of the war to 180, including 93 children.
Since the dawn of Monday, more than 80 Palestinians have been killed, including 39 awaiting aid at its distribution points of the American “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation”, and in places of trucks entering separate areas of the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza warned of “a serious escalation that may go out of control” in infectious diseases, after the first deaths were recorded with “Ghilan Barre” syndrome, and she said: “These are not just deaths, but rather a warning of a possible real catastrophe.”
