The British Foreign Ministry summoned its Israeli ambassador against the background of the E1 settlement plan in the West Bank.
Britain has condemned Israel’s plans to move forward in its controversial settlement plan E1 in the occupied West Bank, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law.
Britain is calling for the interruption of Israel’s settlement plans immediately
British Foreign Secretary David Lami said in a statement that the United Kingdom strongly opposes the plans of the Israeli settlement government in the E1 region, which will divide the future Palestinian state into two parts and represent a flagrant violation of international law, stressing that these plans must be stopped immediately.
The far -right Israeli Finance Minister of Salawal Smotrich announced the approval of building thousands of new housing units in the occupied West Bank, during a press conference held on the planned construction site.
Smotrich said that the plan that would divide the West Bank into two halves will permanently bury the idea of the Palestinian state.
The British Foreign Minister also affirmed the United Kingdom’s intention to recognize the Palestinian state unless the Israeli government takes fundamental steps to end the horrific situation in Gaza.
Lami urged Israel to adhere to a long -term peace with a two -state solution, including the commitment not to include any parts of the West Bank.
