Bobchit: Establishing “Supreme Women” united the individual efforts of an institutional work that ensures effective development participation for women

Mrs. Ijal Issa Boubeshet, Vice -Chairman of the Women and Children’s Affairs Committee at the Shura Council, confirmed that the establishment of the Supreme Council for Women came as an embodiment of the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the monarch of the country, may God protect and preserve him, in moving in women’s work from individual efforts and sporadic initiatives to organized institutional work, ensuring an active development participation of Bahraini women in various areas of life.

On the occasion of the twenty -fourth anniversary of the founding of the Supreme Council for Women, her Excellency made it clear that the Council, since its establishment in the year 2001 AD, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, is the wife of His Majesty, the President of the Supreme Council for Women, may God protect her, has been able for more than two decades to launch and implement many national initiatives and plans that contributed to the development of legislation and policies, expanding women’s participation in decision -making sites, and providing an environment Supporting to enable it at economic, social and political levels.

Bobchit added that one of the most prominent of these achievements is the adoption of the national model for gender balance, which is a national reference and action guide for public policies and strategies, legislators, program perpetrators and plans, where an integrated framework has been established that guarantees the real and sustainable integration of Bahraini women in the development process, and this model consists of four main axes: policies, budgets, knowledge management, measurement of effect, including It enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of efforts to achieve equality and equal gender opportunities.

Her Excellency praised the pivotal role played by the Supreme Council for Women since its foundation in supporting and empowering Bahraini women, noting its prominent achievements in supporting and empowering Bahraini women, enhancing their participation in decision -making sites, and consolidating their active presence in comprehensive and sustainable national development.
