Bahrain delegate to the United Nations participates in the opening of the World Youth Summit for Change

Ambassador Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the United Nations Office in Geneva, participated in the opening of the World Youth Summit for Change, organized by the Dialogue and Peace Center for Youth in cooperation with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) at the Palace of Nations in Geneva.

In his opening speech, the ambassador affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him, attaches utmost importance to empowering young people and involving them as basic partners in the process of sustainable development and future industry.

He pointed to the leading national initiatives that have a continuous follow -up from His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Acts and Youth Affairs, which reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to support young people, including the “brilliant” program that aims to prepare promising youth leaders, and the city of Youth 2030, which constitutes an integrated platform for refining their skills and launching their creative capabilities, stressing that these efforts reflect the faith of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the role of youth as an active partner in National Development.

On the international level, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain referred to the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to achieve the sustainable development goals, which were launched by the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program, as a leading global platform to empower young people to present their pioneering projects and innovative solutions to achieve the sustainable development agenda.

At the end of his speech, the ambassador called on the participating countries and youth from all over the world to participate in the fifth edition of the award, stressing the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to continue to work with all partners in order to enhance the role of youth as partners in making a more peace and sustainable future.
