Dr. Ahmed Essam, Assistant Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, and Engineer Hossam Al -Jarrahi, Assistant Minister of Supply, conducted a sudden field tour in Fayoum Governorate, during which he was accompanied by Supply and Commercial Control officials at the Ministry’s General Court, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Sharif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, to follow up the work progress and ensure support for supporters.
The tour included the Fayoum mill to follow up the supply of wheat and ensure the quality of the flour supplied to bakeries, and they also inspected a number of municipal bakeries to monitor any violations related to the weight of the loaf, the disposal of the subsidized flour or the poor health requirements, where immediate measures were taken to stop some violating bakeries and edit legal records.
The Minister’s assistant also inspected a number of major commercial chains (Hyper Market), where violations were seized not to announce prices, expired goods, and not to announce the discounts, to be edited by urgent records and warnings. During the passage of a food commodity store, violations were monitored in storage methods and the control of expired goods, which resulted in the closure of one of the sections and the seizure of seized quantities.
The tour also included some restaurants in the city to review the quality of raw materials and the extent of adherence to health requirements and declared prices.
The Minister of Supply confirmed during the tour that no manipulation of the baking system or food commodities will not be allowed, stressing the continuation of intensive inspection campaigns, and taking deterrent legal measures against any violations, while supporting and encouraging committed facilities and expanding initiatives to reduce prices to serve citizens and ensuring the stability of the markets.
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade confirmed that it is continuing to enhance supervision and raise the efficiency of the available system and improve the quality of services provided to citizens in Fayoum Governorate and other governorates.
