The official SANA agency reported that an explosion was heard in the Mazzeh area in the center of the Syrian capital, Damascus, noting that the competent authorities started the investigation to determine the nature of the accident.
For its part, Al -Arabiya channel reported that the explosion was caused by an explosive device that was planted in a car that was parked in the neighborhood, confirming that there were no casualties or human injuries as a result of the explosion.
The Mazzeh area is one of the vital areas in Damascus and includes a number of government headquarters and embassies, which makes any accident in which there is an immediate security attention.
Protesters in As -Suwayda raise the Israeli flag
In a related context, the city of As -Suwayda, in southern Syria and a number of other regions, witnessed mass demonstrations today, Saturday, in which hundreds of people from the Druze community participated, demanding the right to self -determination, in the largest wave of protests in the region since the outbreak of violent clashes last month, according to media reports.
A number of demonstrators raised Israeli flags in a gesture that they said came as an expression of thanks for Israel’s intervention in their favor during the confrontations that erupted in July between local Druze militias and armed tribal groups alongside forces affiliated with the Syrian government.
