Three students, sponsored by the American University of Bahrain, represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in the thirtieth edition of the annual conference of the Youth Association, which was held from August 8 to 10 this year at the United Nations headquarters in New York in the United States of America, under the slogan “Challenge of adversity: empowering international youth citizens to lead”, in the presence of senior leaders and manufacturers of youth category from around the world.
The delegation of students from the American University of Bahrain included the student Munira Khaled Al -Hamr, the student Maryam Mohamed Modon, and the student Maria Al -Awadi.
The journey organized by the university with the visit of the United Nations headquarters to celebrate the International Youth Day, which falls on August 12 of each year, then participated effectively in the conference sessions and workshops that focused on topics such as mental health, peacebuilding, environmental skills, and women’s leadership, where events and activities witnessed wide youth participation from all over the world to discuss important global issues.
The student delegation participated in the “Opportunities Exhibition”, which gave them the opportunity to explore ways to develop their educational and professional career, and the students also participated in the Culture Festival, which was held on the last day of the event, during which they reviewed the ancient Bahraini heritage by wearing the traditional Bahraini dress -up dress.
On this occasion, I congratulated Dr. Amal Al -Awadi, Dean of Student Affairs at the American University of Bahrain, the participating students who represented the Kingdom of Bahrain in this prestigious event, noting the role of the student delegation in promoting dialogue and communication with the various cultures and peoples of the world and raising the name of Bahrain high in various international forums and contributing to global discussions to bring about change, and stressed that this participation represents an embodiment of the university’s vision in preparing future leaders who hold Bahrain’s civilized message to the world, and present A bright picture of the capabilities of Bahraini youth in global dialogue, exchange of knowledge and their ambitious vision of a better future for all.
Dr. Al -Awadi that the university’s sponsorship of the participation of its students for the fourth time in a row comes within the framework of supporting national efforts to enhance the position of Bahraini youth at the global level, and to confirm the quality of education provided by the American University in Bahrain and based on developing global awareness and leadership skills, noting that the participating students returned from this experience with relations and friends from various participating delegations from around the world and new visions and inspiration they will transfer to their colleagues in a way that establishes the university’s countries As an incubator for academic, vocational and leadership excellence.
For their part, the participating students expressed their happiness and pride in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain and the American University of Bahrain at the thirtieth annual conference of the Youth Association Conference, expressing their gratitude for the opportunity that this experience gave them to develop their academic and personal career, gain the necessary experiences and knowledge, enrich their life experiences, build a global relationship network, and learn about various cultures.
