The management of the Alexandria Short Film Festival announced that it has opened the door for films to participate in the twelfth session, starting from August 19, 2025 to January 1, 2026.

The Alexandria Festival includes 4 major competitions, which are the international and Arab competition and the Egyptian students competition, artificial intelligence, and receives films – documentary – animation.
The eleventh edition of the Alexandria Short Film Festival was held from April 27 to May 2, 2025.
The festival witnessed a great turnout of art stars, cinema makers and the audience, who attended films and seminars in full number halls throughout its activities.
In its last session, the festival honored the artist Reham Abdel Ghafour and the artist Ahmed Malik, and won extensive praises about the quality of the participating films and the various festival activities.
Beginning with the eleventh session, the film winning the Hibatia Golden Prize became eligible to run in the Oscar for short films.
It is noteworthy that the Alexandria Film Festival was founded and organized by the Art Department Association, and it is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism Promotion Authority, Raid Star, Best Media, Lagooni, Oscar, Digitizid, Alexandria Governorate, New Century, Pashon Art Production Company.
It is noteworthy that the Alexandria Short Film Festival is one of the prominent cinematic events in the region, as it provides a platform for displaying short films from all over the world, and provides an opportunity for cinema makers to communicate and exchange experiences.
