Al -Marzouq noted that he began his active participation in the eighties by representing the country in the Arab and international sports championships for people with disabilities, and raising the Bahrain flag with the obtaining colored medals, through joining the disability societies and active participation in their integration and empowerment, to the chairmanship of the Bahraini Hawazine Association, which exceeds the concept of care and qualification in an effort to enhance participation and display inspiring models with disabilities, expressing His hope to complete the efforts and leading initiatives that Munira bin Hindi, may God have mercy on him, and Sheikh Duaij bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, may God prolong his life.
He stressed that the royal directives to develop the Bahraini experience of people with disabilities, and the future vision pursued by the government led by His Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister represents a road map for everyone who works in the field of care and development, saying: “I will strive with my best to be in this trust, and work in partnership with all concerned parties to enhance the quality of the lives of persons with disabilities.”
He pointed out that during its current session, the Supreme Committee coincides with the governmental and societal interest in the file of disabilities affairs, focusing on developing national policies, ensuring equal access to services, enhancing their active participation in public, economic and social life. It should be noted that the Supreme Committee for the Care of Persons with Disabilities includes a group of expertise and specialization, and undertakes the task of drawing policies and recommendation By legislation that enhances their rights, in line with the 2030 Economic Vision. Resolution 43 of 2025 was issued to reshape it, for a period of two years, renewable.
The Supreme Committee held its first meeting of the year 2025 headed by the Minister of Social Development, reviewed the achievements that were achieved for the sector, and statistical indicators for people with disabilities, mechanisms for enhancing societal awareness of their rights, developing the mechanisms of disbursing support agencies, and enhancing partnership with the private sector to expand their privileges.
