Representative Jalal Kazem Al -Mahfouz submitted a proposal to include Bahraini citizens married to the citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, entitling with the high cost of living, on the condition of permanent residence in the Kingdom of Bahrain, similar to Bahraini citizens, in the context of seeking to enhance the principle of gender balance and achieve social justice.
Al -Mahfouz explained that this proposal came after monitoring the suffering of a number of Bahraini families who suffer from the high costs of living and the growing economic burdens, noting that this group of female citizens currently does not get the high cost of the high allowance despite the fact that they bear the responsibility of supporting their families.
Al -Mahfouz pointed out that Bahraini women married to Gulf people are no less associated with the homeland than others, but rather bearing the burden of raising children and the costs of raising them like others, which requires them to be fair and provide the necessary government support for them, especially in light of the economic conditions and the high costs of living and daily needs.
He added that the inclusion of this category with the high cost of living will be a positive step towards promoting social protection and ensuring the benefit of male and female citizens from government support programs, stressing that the upgrading of the living level of citizens is one of the main principles that the rational leadership calls for within the central pivot strategies in the development process. Al -Mahfouz concluded his statement by emphasizing that the legislative authority will continue its efforts to support male and female citizens in the face of high prices and provide decent livelihoods for all Bahraini families.
