Al -Baraka Al -Islami announces its financial results with a decrease in losses by 75%

Al -Baraka Islamic Bank announced its financial results for the second quarter of the year 2025 AD, registered a remarkable transformation from losses to profits, as the bank achieved a net profit after the tax of 0.1 million Bahraini dinars, compared to a net loss of 1.5 million Bahraini dinars in the second quarter of the year 2024. The net loss was also reduced after the tax on shareholders to 0.1 million Bahraini dinars, compared With a net loss of 2.0 million Bahraini dinars in the same period of the previous year, thanks to the improvement in operational revenues and the efficiency of cost management in the Kingdom of Bahrain, while the total costs increased slightly as a result of expanding our network by opening 15 new branches in Pakistan.

In terms of the first half of the year 2025, the bank recorded a net profit before the tax amounting to 1.6 million Bahraini dinars, compared to a net loss before the tax of 0.8 million Bahraini dinars in the first half of the year 2024. The net loss after the tax returned to shareholders decreased to 1.0 million Bahraini dinars, compared to a loss of 4.2 million Bahraini dinars in the same period of last year, supported by a noticeable increase in Net operational revenue, low allocations as a result of improved asset quality.

The bank’s financial center witnessed remarkable growth, as the total assets increased by 6% to 1.028 billion Bahraini dinars, compared to 0.970 billion Bahraini dinars as on December 31, 2024. Customer deposits also increased by 6.5% to 903 million Bahraini dinars, compared to 848 million BD at the end of 2024. The total investments rose to 392 million Bahraini dinars, Compared to 387 million Bahraini dinars in the previous year, while funding assets grew to 451 million Bahraini dinars, compared to 446 million Bahraini dinars at the end of last year, as a result of an increase in demand for individual’s short to medium -term.

This improvement came in the results of the second quarter and the first half of the year 2025, driven by increasing revenues from the successful financing and investment activities of the bank, the improvement of the quality of assets, the high efficiency of expenses management, especially in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as the progress in implementing digital transformation initiatives, expanding the customer base, and enhancing products compatible with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.

Commenting on these financial results, Mrs. Sabah Khalil Al -Moayad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al -Baraka Islamic Bank, said: “This improvement in the financial results achieved by the bank during the second quarter and the first half of 2025 is the durability of our strategy and our ambitious vision, and our ability to achieve sustainable growth in all sectors of our business.
