Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat, Acting President of Aswan University, said that in a new step that enhances academic integration between the universities of southern Upper Egypt, in light of the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the auspices of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Assiut University witnessed this morning, Tuesday, August 26, the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between Assiut and Aswan universities in the field of academic graduate programs at the Faculty of Trade.
A common vision aims to alleviate the burdens of travel for researchers
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al -Minshawi, President of Assiut University, and Dr. Luay Saad Eddin Nasr, Acting President of Aswan University, in the context of a joint vision aimed at alleviating the burdens of travel for researchers, and raising their research and scientific efficiency, by implementing masters and doctorate programs provided by the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University, with the participation of its counterpart at Aswan University, provided that these programs are held at the headquarters of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Aswan.
For his part, Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat valued the cooperation with the University of Assiut, which he described as the mother university of Upper Egypt universities, considering this cooperation as a role model in scientific and institutional integration, and contributes to the development of the graduate studies system and the service of the surrounding environment.
Dr. Ahmed Al -Minshawi stressed that this cooperation reflects the commitment of the two universities to their mission in supporting society and serving development issues in Upper Egypt, noting that the protocol enhances research capabilities among graduate students, and opens wider horizons to exchange academic and professional experiences between the two institutions.
Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafeez, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Assiut University, explained that the new protocol comes as a complement to a former protocol signed in 2023, which dealt with cooperation in the field of professional graduate studies, and achieved remarkable success in terms of turnout and academic return.
Dr. Hassan Al -Shaqti, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce in Aswan, also explained that the protocol provides for clear obligations between the two parties, as Assiut University provides academic regulations, approved models and faculty members at a rate of not less than 20%, in addition to technical consultations, while Aswan University undertakes the executive aspects of preparing the classroom, admission and registration management, administrative support, as well as participation in faculty members of no more than 50%, And marketing programs for students. The agreement also provides for the sharing of financial returns equally, and the duration of the protocol is four years, renewable.
The signing of the protocol witnessed a number of academic and legal leaders from both universities, among them Counselor Abdel Razek Othman, Dr. Doub Saber, Dr. Walid Allam and Dr. Walid Siddiq, along with Dr. Alaa Abdel Hafeez.
On the sidelines of the visit, Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat participated as an external discussion in discussing a doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Assiut, entitled: “The capacity and the optimal place for the hybrid stores of energy to improve the performance of a distribution system connected to the electrical network and supported by the sources of Photovula and winds”, which was presented by Eng. Mahmoud Refaat Al -Ghazali, under the supervision of a group of professors from the universities of Assiut and Cairo, And experts from the industrial sector.
This step comes within the framework of the efforts of the two universities to enhance scientific research and link its results to the actual challenges facing society, which contributes to improving the quality of higher education and achieving sustainable development in Upper Egypt.
