A delegation from the Gifted Education Program at the Department of Special Education at the Faculty of Education and Administrative and Technical Sciences at the Arab Gulf University participated in the 26th World Conference of the World Council for Gifted and Excellence (WCGTC 2025), which was recently held in the city of Braga, Portugal. The conference, which is held every two years, was attended by a group of researchers and specialists in the field of talented education from 35 countries, where experiences were exchanged and the latest scientific developments were reviewed in the field of education and care for talented students.
The delegation was chaired by Deputy Dean of the College of Education and Administrative and Technical Sciences, and Head of the Department of Special Education, Dr. Ahmed Al -Abbasi. The delegation included a group of students of the master’s and doctorate programs in the talented education program, who participated in full support from the university administration in a number of practical and interactive workshops. They had the opportunity to communicate with international experts to gain new skills and exchange best practices, in addition to identifying masters and doctorate students participating from various universities.
In the same context, the conference witnessed the honoring of Dr. Ahmed Al -Abbasi with the promising world award in appreciation of his distinguished scientific contributions in the field of talented care at the global level. He also participated as a major speaker in a dialogue session during which he presented his experiences and research in front of a group of experts and researchers from different countries of the world.
For their part, the members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the university’s administration to provide such an exceptional opportunity to participate in the conference, stressing the importance of such conferences in promoting scientific and cultural communication, and seeing the latest global trends and developments that contribute to developing the education and care of talented students.
This participation comes within the framework of the continuous endeavor of the Arab Gulf University to support students and academic cadres, and to enhance its position as a leading institution in the field of innovation and the development of talented education programs at the regional and global levels.
