The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed an increasing arrival for pilgrims from the middle of Dhu al -Hijjah until the end of Muharram.
The number of pilgrims coming from outside the Kingdom reached more than 1.2 million pilgrims from 109 countries around the world, in an indication of the continuous recovery of the Umrah season and the recovery of the religious travel movement after the Hajj season.
The number of pilgrims
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that these numbers reflect the organizational and coordination efforts made by the Kingdom to facilitate the performance of the rituals, and to enhance the religious experience of visitors and pilgrims.
The season witnessed a 30% increase in the number of pilgrims coming with a Umrah visa compared to the same period last year, in addition to an increase of 27% in the number of visas issued.
The number of contracts between Umrah partners and external agents also exceeded 4,200 contracts, which shows the extent of diversity in Umrah services and the expansion of the global partnership network.
The services of the guests of Rahman
These numbers are an extension of the efforts made by the Kingdom within the target of Vision 2030 to raise the quality of services provided to the guests of Rahman, and to facilitate their arrival in Makkah and Madinah, amid an integrated technical and organizational system led by the digital transformation in the sector.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah continues to strengthen its efforts in integration with various governmental and private agencies, to ensure an exceptional Umrah season that witnesses a smooth flow of procedures and ease of transportation, and embodies the efficiency of the Saudi organization in the service of Islam and Muslims.
