Ambassador Dr. Youssef Abdel Karim Bojiri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the meeting of the states parties in the Arab Charter for Human Rights, which was held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The meeting discussed a proposal submitted by one of the parties to amending some provisions of the Charter, as the participating delegations exchanged views on ways to develop the charter mechanisms and enhance its effectiveness in line with regional and international developments in the field of human rights.
In a related context, Ambassador Dr. Youssef Abdel Karim Bojiri met with His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Maghari, Director of the Human Rights Department at the League of Arab States, where during the meeting, ways to enhance the existing cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the General Secretariat of the University, especially in connection with the development of the human rights system, and coordinating positions on issues of common concern at the regional and international levels.
