Warnings from strong winds of dust and high waves in Kuwait

The Meteorological Department of the State of Kuwait issued an official alert about the expected weather conditions, as Kuwait weather will witness today, Tuesday, 22 July 2025, with highly hot atmosphere accompanied by active northwestern winds that may significantly affect the horizontal vision and marine conditions.

Air expectations indicate that Kuwait’s weather today will be distinguished during the daytime periods with severe temperatures with moderate northwestern winds to active speed ranging from 20 to 55 km per hour, and these winds will clearly be dusty. The most important thing is to anticipate an exceptional activity in these northwestern winds, where its speed is expected to exceed 55 km per hour, which makes it intense dust in a thick way that reduces the horizontal visibility to less than 1000 meters in some areas.

Based on these expected air developments, the Meteorological Department issued the new 1st note, which starts from nine in the morning on July 22, 2025 and ends at seven in the evening of the same day, that is, with a period of 10 continuous hours. The intensity of this mention is classified as medium -severity, which requires taking the necessary precautions by citizens and residents.

As for the night period, it is expected that Kuwait weather today will witness a relatively improvement, as the atmosphere will become hot to heat, with light northwestern winds to moderate speeds ranging from 12 to 35 km per hour. Some sporadic clouds also appear during the night hours, which may save some comfort of the hot atmosphere.

The Meteorological Department advises all citizens and residents to take care and caution during the expected wind activity hours, especially while driving on external roads, and avoid marine activities during periods of high waves. It is also advised to stay in closed places as much as possible during the peak of the expected dirt storm activity, with the need to close windows and use air purification devices for people with respiratory problems.

The condition of the sea in Kuwait

With regard to marine conditions, the condition of the sea in Kuwait during the daytime periods is expected to be high to high waves, as the wave height will range between 3 to 6 feet. This significant rise in marine waves is directly linked to the expected northwestern wind activity, as the marine waves are expected to rise to more than 6 feet in some areas. During the night period, marine conditions will improve to become light to moderate waves, with a height of 2 to 4 feet.

Data issued by the different marine stations in the country shows a variation in expected temperatures and waves. Shuwaikh and Salmiya port records the highest maximum temperatures at 45 degrees Celsius, while the lowest temperature in Al -Jalaya station is 31 degrees Celsius. All marine stations expect a wave of 6 feet with a southeastern direction.

As for tidal times in Shuwaikh Port, the first tide occurs at the age of fifty and fifty minutes in the morning, and the second tide at ten and twenty -four minutes in the evening. As for the first island, it occurs at thirty -four minutes in the afternoon, and the second islands at five o’clock in the evening.
