US President Donald Trump said he was “unjust” from his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, accusing him of killing large numbers of people during the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Trump explained that Putin “did not actually present anything to stop the war”, accusing him of “uttering nonsense” regarding the situation in Ukraine, as he put it.
Trump revealed that his team is considering imposing harsh and strict sanctions on Russia if the conflict continues, noting that the US administration has provided 300 billion dollars to Ukraine aid to Ukraine.
In response to a question about a draft law proposed by the Senate to impose additional sanctions on Russia, Trump said, “I am looking at it strongly.”
He added that the United States has “provided Ukraine with the best military equipment available”, as part of its military support to counter the ongoing Russian attacks.
Trump’s comments come in light of the continued tension between Washington and Moscow, and the increasing international criticism of the Russian role in the Ukrainian war, amid renewed calls for a diplomatic solution that ends the bloody conflict.
