The authorities in the US state of Hawaii issued a warning of the possibility of a tsunami after an 8.7 -magnitude earthquake off the coast of Russia, the state’s emergency administration announced.
Russia’s earthquake
A violent earthquake measuring 8.7 on the Richter scale in eastern Russia, according to the US Geological Survey, prompted the authorities to issue warnings of the possibility of tsunami to form a height of 4 meters.
In conjunction, the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation stated that the Japanese government had issued orders to evacuate a number of coastal areas, with expectations of a rise to 3 meters in some areas extending along the Pacific Ocean.
