The fact -finding committee in the events of the Syrian coast announced the results of its final report, confirming that the violations were “wide”, but it was not “organized or one reference”, according to the committee’s spokesperson, Yasser Al -Farhan, on Tuesday.
Thousands of statements, murder certificates and violations
Al -Farhan said that the committee listened to 23 official briefing, and 930 benefits gathered from eyewitnesses. The report pointed out that 1469 people were killed, including 90 women, during March 7 and 8, when civilians were subjected to violations between killing, robbery and burning property, and its motives were “more revenge than an ideology.”
The role of government forces and the absence of control
Al -Farhan indicated that the government forces tried to reduce chaos on March 7, but some inspections carried out by the security forces were marred by violations. In turn, the head of the committee, Juma Al -Anzi, said that the state’s control was sometimes non -existent, denying the existence of any documented case for the kidnapping of women.
Burning homes and identifying the accused
More than 480 cases of burning homes and commercial stores were monitored, while about 300 of those involved were reached. Al -Farhan explained that some of the remnants of the former regime led by Bashar al -Assad tried to separate the coast from the rest of the country, and that the names of 265 potential accused were reached.
Violations against government forces
Al -Farhan added that the government forces themselves were subjected to violations by elements of Assad’s remnants, pointing to the killing of 238 security personnel and the army, some of whom fell in captivity, while some fled the adjective of the security services to achieve special gains.
Transfer the report to the presidency and confirm the principle of accountability
The committee confirmed the end of its tasks and the referral of its final report to the competent authorities, explaining that the investigations took place without political interventions. Al -Farhan said that “the conclusions are not based on conclusive evidence,” but it was referred to the judiciary, expressing his confidence in the state’s seriousness in accountability.
Sharia President: No one is above the law
The committee said that Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara has repeatedly stressed that “no one is above legal responsibility.” The committee recommended the issuance of legislation criminalizing sectarian strife, adopting measures for transitional justice, security governance in accordance with modern standards, and organizing military uniforms.
Referring the accused … and the dialogue is a priority
Two regulations were referred to the names of the defendants to the Attorney General, while the committee stressed the importance of dialogue and civil peace, noting that the presidency asked her to hold a conference to present the results of her work.

Violent confrontations erupted in the Syrian coast (Lattakia, Tartous, Banias) on March 6, including civilians and security forces, in which gunmen were accused of former President Bashar al -Assad, in addition to the army and reserve groups, by violations.
