Government hospitals confirmed that the decision of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to adopt the training program “Critical Care Medicine for Adults” at the Salmaniya Medical Complex, reflects the efforts of government hospitals to develop training and specialized programs and continue to enhance the efficiency of national medical cadres.
Government hospitals explained that the program of critical care medicine for adults comes within the second package of initiatives and programs aimed at developing and training national cadres in the health sector, in line with His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Minister of Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labor Fund, in partnership between the Labor Fund and the Supreme Health Council by providing support to 750 Bahraini in the health sector of doctors and nurses.
Government hospitals stated that this program’s accreditation comes as a complete training program for a period of four years, starting from October 2025 to the end of September 2029, where it will contribute to preparing and qualifying doctors in the field of critical care and meeting the needs of hospitals in this vital specialization, noting that according to this accreditation, the number of 2 doctors trained at each of the five levels annually, in a way that enhances practical and vocational training opportunities, will be accepted. Government hospitals indicated that the program includes during the training period a series of advanced training courses that include multiple specialties such as anesthesia, critical care, kidney disease, as well as lung diseases, nerve anesthesia, digestive diseases, chest surgery, as well as vascular surgery, infectious diseases, intensive care rays and other specialties that contribute to enhancing specialized medical capabilities and developing national competencies.
Government hospitals expressed their pride in this accreditation, which reflects the confidence of regional health bodies in the efficiency and development of the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing the keenness to continue developing the approved training programs, in a way that contributes to achieving medical excellence and community service.
