The Moroccan Royal Army Club rejected a proposal submitted by one of the players ’agents regarding the contract with Reda Selim, the Egyptian Al -Ahly wing, on loan for one season, in light of the Moroccan team’s adherence to the player’s inclusion in final or dismissal of the deal.
Disagreement
Informed sources reported that the Moroccan club did not show enthusiasm for the idea of Salim’s borrowing, despite the historical relationship that binds it to the club, as he started its career at the Raja Academy, then moved to the Royal Army in 2017, and was escalated to the first team in 2019.
Al -Ahly’s position
For his part, Al -Ahly categorically rejected the idea of selling Selim to an African club participating in the African Champions League, and preferred the loan option if it must be his temporary departure. This trend comes within the framework of the club’s policy to preserve its tactical options and not to strengthen the direct competitors in the continent.
Selim numbers with the Royal Army
Before moving to Al -Ahly in the summer of 2023, Reda Selim played 115 games with the Royal Army, during which he scored 32 goals, and made 26 other goals, and he was one of the main elements in crowning the team with the Moroccan League title in the season before last, after he scored 11 goals and made 10.
Different performance in Al -Ahly
Since joining Al -Ahly, Salim participated in 44 games in various championships, during which he scored 5 goals, and made 3 decisive passes, amid different technical assessments about the extent of his harmony with the way the Egyptian team played, especially in light of the strong competition in the offensive line.
Caution in Mercato
These developments come in light of the Royal Army Administration’s approach to adopting a precise policy in the summer deals, with the aim of avoiding the repetition of deals that were not achieved in the past seasons, despite the high cost.
