Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today, Mohamed Abdel -Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, to follow up on a number of ministry’s work files.
Reducing student densities to less than 50 students per class
During the meeting, the Minister of Education and Technical Education reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to develop curricula with a total of 94 curricula for all educational levels (kindergarten, primary, preparatory, and secondary), noting that the ministry used a committee of senior academics and university professors to review the developed curricula; To be guided, in their opinion, and the accurate scientific review of books for all stages.
He added: The committee focused on topics that develop a sense of pride in the homeland, deepen the Egyptian identity and pride in the Arabic language, in addition to developing mathematics curricula in cooperation with the Japanese side using the Japanese methodology in simplifying the scientific material, and in this context, the Prime Minister informed a number of new textbooks after printing them.
Mohamed Abdel -Latif pointed to the program of qualifying and training teachers in the developed curricula, explaining that the training plan aims to cover 100% of teachers in cooperation with UNICEF, and that training mechanisms will be through video technology, or through personal training through intensive workshops, and training on the teacher platform that covers the entire curriculum and each teacher will obtain separately using his account and receive a certificate of completion of the training course.
During the meeting, the Minister of Education touched on the National Program for the Development of Reading and Writing Skills for Primary Students, which represents the product of a strategic partnership between the ministry and international organizations and reflects the joint commitment to improve the quality of education and empower future generations, explaining that the general goal of the program is to develop reading and writing skills for stalled students by developing teachers’ skills to give students the basic skills in reading and writing, noting to The program is being implemented in 10 governorates, with 2000 schools, with a total of one million male and female students as a first stage.
The Minister also reviewed the proposal to attach children in the first stage of kindergarten in mosques in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf, provided that this is in a pilot framework for one academic year, and in one governorate until the experiment is evaluated, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s interest in building the Egyptian person and raising children with sound education.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education touched on the efforts achieved regarding the expansion of Japanese schools, explaining that the number of these schools will reach 70 schools at the beginning of the academic year 2025/2026, adding that it was agreed with the Japanese side to introduce programming subject to students of Egyptian -Japanese schools in the framework of the expansion plan in the program of teaching programming, pointing out that the educational material presented from the Japanese side in this framework is distinguished By walking according to a specific and clear approach, as it is divided into levels of novice, then average and advanced.
The Minister of Education and Technical Education presented the most prominent thing that was accomplished during the previous academic year 2024/2025, noting that the ministry managed to reduce student densities to rates less than 50 students in one class, in addition to raising the percentage of students’ attendance to exceed 89% in all schools of Egypt, in addition to making steps to bridge the deficit in the numbers of teachers and improve their conditions, as well as restructuring secondary education, developing curricula according to international standards The various, in addition to preparing a plan to convert technical education schools into applied technology schools in cooperation with local and international companies to provide training and linking the requirements of the labor market.
