The US dollar exchange rate recorded remarkable stability against the Egyptian pound today, Friday, July 11, 2025, in a number of banks operating in the local market.
According to the official data issued by the Central Bank of Egypt, the price of the dollar reached 49.44 pounds for purchase and 49.58 pounds for sale, without a change in the levels of yesterday.

The rate of inflation in Egypt
The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed, yesterday, Thursday, the slowdown in the inflation rate in Egypt during last June, to 14.9% on an annual basis, compared to 16.8% in the previous month.

This is the first slowdown after 3 consecutive months of acceleration at the rate of increasing consumer prices in Egyptian cities since the beginning of the year, after April and March.
On a monthly basis, consumers’ prices shrinkled by 0.1% during June, compared to 1.9% last May.
The central bank decides to install the interest rate for the second time in 2025
The central bank decided to keep the interest rate on deposit and lending for the second time during 2025, after 4 meetings, the interest in two of them was reduced and installed in two meetings.
The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank, at its meeting yesterday, Thursday, July 10, 2025, kept the re -deposit and lending price for one night and the price of the main operation of the Central Bank at 24.00%, 25.00% and 24.50%, respectively.
It also decided to fix the credit and deduction price by 100 basis points at 24.50%, in order to reflect the latest economic developments and expectations since the previous monetary policy committee meeting.
