What are the signs of high blood sugar?
Severe thirst:
When sugar levels rise, the kidneys expel excess sugar across urine, which leads to fluid loss from the body, a constant sense of thirst and dry mouth.
Frequent urination
The repeated need to urinate, especially at night, is a common evidence of high sugar, as the body pulls water from the tissues to expel excess sugar.
Excessive hunger
Despite the presence of sugar in the blood, the body cannot use it well, which causes a person to feel hungry permanently.
Blurry
The body pulls fluids from the eye tissue to deal with excess sugar, which leads to confusion in vision.
Fatigue
The cells are not used for sugar as an energy that leads to weakness and fatigue.
Repeated infection
High sugar weakens the immune system, and increases the chances of developing a fungal or bacterial infection, especially in women.
