Engineer Ibrahim bin Hassan Al -Hawaj, Minister of Works, received His Excellency Dr. Noura Muhammad Al -Mashhaan, Minister of Public Works in the sisterly State of Kuwait, in the presence of Sheikh Thamer bin Jaber Al -Ahmad Al -Sabah, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Kingdom of Bahrain and a number of officials.
During the meeting, the importance of exchanging successful experiences between the two brotherly countries in the field of infrastructure was emphasized, and the emphasis on mutual keenness to continue to promote coordination and joint cooperation to serve the development goals in both countries.
The meeting included a presentation of an explanatory offer from the Ministry of Works on the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in developing road networks, which included the most prominent efforts and practices adopted by the Ministry to develop and maintain the road network, upgrade the quality of the materials used in it, and apply the latest technical specifications and standards in the implementation of projects. A number of important road projects were also reviewed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the project to develop Sheikh Jaber Al -Ahmad Al -Sabah Street, the Al -Fateh Street development project, the Sheikh Zayed Street extension project, and the project to construct Al -Muharraq Ring Street, in addition to the Nasser Bin Hamad Bicycles Project.
The presentation dealt with the Ministry’s efforts to monitor the quality of the asphalt materials used in road projects, and to adopt asphalt mixtures based on accurate tests, international standards, field tests for asphalt materials and the adoption of factories, as well as the Ministry’s keenness to adopt research and development programs aimed at enhancing the use of recycled materials.
At the end of the meeting, His Excellency the Minister expressed her thanks and appreciation for the warm reception, praising the advanced Bahraini experience in the field of roads and the Kingdom’s keenness to apply the highest technical and professional standards in implementing projects.
