Dr. Osama Al -Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, went to the Blue Mosque in the capital, Manila, as part of his official visit to the Republic of the Philippines, where he was received by the Minister of Filipino Muslim Affairs Sabodin Abdul Rahim, in the order of Ambassador Nader Zaki, Egypt’s ambassador to the Philippines, as well as a group of citizens and Muslim expatriates.

The meeting was characterized by friendliness and mutual appreciation, and the minister delivered a speech in which he affirmed the depth of fraternal ties between the Egyptian and Philippine peoples, praising the spirit of religious coexistence and tolerance that the Philippines enjoy, and expressing Egypt’s pride in the status of the Philippines Muslims and their civil and national role.
The Minister also announced that the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments is full to cooperate with the Ministry of Muslim Affairs in the areas of training of Filipino imams and preachers, through rehabilitation and educational courses aimed at strengthening moderate discourse, based on Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting Muslim issues in the world.
Dr. Osama Al -Azhari emphasized that the Egyptian religious institutions, foremost of which is the Ministry of Endowments and Al -Azhar, is fully prepared to provide scientific and legal support to the Philippines in the “Halal” project, to ensure that it matches the legal standards and accurate scientific controls.
The minister’s statements were widely welcomed by the attendees, who expressed their happiness with this important visit, which reflects Egypt’s keenness to extend the bridges of cooperation and support with the Muslims of the world.
