On Saturday, July 26, 2025, the Jayyer Anderson Museum is organizing a cultural event entitled a tourist tour in the archaeological houses of Egypt, which includes a number of specialized lectures and an internal tour of the museum.
The Jayer Anderson Museum organizes a tourist tour and lectures on Islamic architecture and Rashid’s homes
The event begins with a lecture entitled “Residential Architecture in Islamic Civilization between Career Beauty, Religious Spirit and Tourism”, received by Professor Reham Mohamed Yousry, an inspector of antiquities at the Islamic and Coptic Antiquities Record Center, in which the aesthetic, religious and functional dimensions of Islamic architecture are dealt with in residential houses.
Nashwa Mohamed Mustafa, an inspector of antiquities at the Supreme Council of Antiquities, also gave a lecture entitled “The architectural features of Rashid’s homes”, during which she reviews the unique technical and architectural characteristics of historical houses in the city of Rashid, and its importance in preserving the architectural identity of the city.
The program concludes with an introductory tour of the attendance inside the Jayer Anderson Museum, to identify its architectural elements and archaeological holdings, in the context of highlighting the residential heritage in Egypt through the ages.
The event comes within the museum’s efforts to spread awareness of architectural and historical heritage, and to enhance the archaeological culture of the public.
