Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, confirmed that work is underway to complete the detailed plans in the villages and cities, whose strategic plans have been completed, as 114 cities, 11 areas of urban extension and 1391 villages have been completed.
The Minister of Local Development said that the detailed plans for 37 cities, 51 regions are being implemented in cities and 21 villages in the governorates, and thus the implementation rate of the detailed plans for the target cities was prepared through the protocol 75% and 86% for villages.
Preventing new random areas in villages and cities
Within the framework of the efforts of all state agencies to prevent the emergence of new random areas in villages and cities, provide appropriate housing, improve living opportunities for citizens, and encourage real estate investment for village citizens and cities in the governorates, to improve the quality of the lives of the governorates and the importance of detailed plans as an essential pillar to create development in cities and villages, in a way that serves the purposes of economic and social development that the government seeks.
This came during the review of the Minister of Local Development, a report from Dr. Saeed Haliya, head of the Ministry of Strategic Management and Local Development Sector in the Ministry to follow up the file of detailed and strategic plans in the governorates, where during the fiscal year 2024/2025, the detailed plans for 24 cities were completed in 8 governorates, 4 neighborhoods in the city of Giza and 107 villages in 4 governorates.
The Minister of Local Development explained that the detailed plans that were completed during the fiscal year 2024-2025 for (24) cities that include, cities (Al-Hawamdiya- Al-Saf- Atfih) in addition to the neighborhoods of (Al-Warraq- Agouza- Al-Munira Al-Gharbiya- Imbaba) in Giza Governorate, and the city of (Khanka) in Qaliubiya Governorate, and the cities of (Al-Jamaliya- Aga- Tami Al-Amdid- Gamasa- Kurd Dakahlia, the cities of (Al -Qantarah West, Al -Tal Al -Kabeer, Al -Qassasin) in Ismailia Governorate, and the city of (Abu Rudis) in the South Sinai Governorate and the cities of (Al -Fashn, Nasser, Al -Wasiti) in Beni Suef Governorate, and the cities of (Al -Fath, Abu Tig, Abnoub, Sadfa) in Assiut Governorate, and cities (Maghagha, Deir Mawas, Abu Qarqas, Mallawi) in Minya Governorate, in addition to 107 villages Giza, Dakahlia, New Valley and Fayoum.
Dr. Manal Awad pointed out that the file of the detailed plans for cities and villages is of great importance to its important role in creating urban and population development, organizing construction work and contributing effectively to the implementation of Egypt’s 2030 vision that is concerned with preserving agricultural lands from urban crawls, providing increasing demand for housing, organizing construction and providing services.
