The Bahrain Basketball Federation will organize a specialized course for the 3×3 game rulers next Thursday, under the direct supervision of the International Basketball Federation (Fiba).
The course is presented by the accredited international lecturer Marcus Mikhailids, who is one of the prestigious arbitration competencies on the international scene in the 3×3 basketball game, during which he will address the most important developments in the game laws, the methods of managing matches and modern arbitration skills approved by the International Federation.
The Swiss Mikhailids is one of the most prominent basketball referees in the world, as it was adopted as an international rule from the International Basketball Federation (Fiba) since 2010, as he participated in managing major championship matches such as “Eurolig” between 2012 and 2015, and the European Nations Championship “Euro Basket” 2017, and the Final Four Champions League final in the same year, along with his participation in the World Cup 2019. On the 3×3 game, Mikhailids is one of the first referees since its official launch in 2010, and it managed the World Cup finals, the World Tours Finals, and the EUR Cap, before becoming an international lecturer approved by the International Basketball Federation.
The course is held within the Bahrain Basketball Federation strategy to expand and publish the game base, in addition to preparing and qualifying a generation of national referees capable of leading 3×3 matches with high efficiency at the local and international levels, especially in light of the growing global interest in this game, which has become officially approved within the Olympic Games.
In this context, Mr. Tariq Al -Arabi, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, affirmed that this session is a valuable opportunity for Bahraini referees to acquire advanced experiences from certified international lecturers, and closely see the requirements of arbitration in 3×3 championships, especially with the beginning of the inauguration of local championships and the increase in international participation in this game.
Al -Arabi pointed out that the organization of this session comes in the context of the Federation’s commitment to developing Bahraini arbitration in basketball and 3 x 3, which reflects positively at the game level and supports its orientation towards excellence in all its patterns.
