The Bahrain Basketball Federation announced the formation of the Organizing Committee for the twenty -sixth edition of the Arab Men’s Basketball Championship, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain during the period from July 25 to August 2, after Tunisia apologized for hosting.
The Organizing Committee is chaired by Mr. Alaa Madara, President of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, and includes a representative of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information and the General Sports Authority.
In this context, the organizing committee of the tournament held its meeting on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Bahrain Basketball Federation, where it valued the pride and pride in the care of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Various sporting events.
The organizing committee also expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the ministries and other concerned bodies for its constructive cooperation and sincere efforts in overcoming obstacles and providing all the necessary facilities for the success of this sporting event, which reflects the spirit of work and dedication that the Bahrain team enjoys in various fields.
The committee approved the appointment of Mr. Mohamed Ahmed as director of the tournament and the formation of an integrated team to take over the tasks of the organization, as this team works as a beehive in all directions to ensure a successful hosting and supervisor of the championship that is one of the most prominent championships on the regional scene.
The work team consists of Mr. Fawaz Shamsan, responsible for communication and media, Mr. Ghazi Radhi, responsible for marketing, Mr. Ahmed Caldari, responsible for reception and hospitality, and Mr. Mohamed Abdel Samad, responsible for finance.
Also, the organizing committee decided to hold the championship matches at the Khalifa Sports City Hall in Isa City.
The tournament has the participation of a group of Arab teams, which makes it an important sporting demonstration at the region level, and an opportunity to enhance Bahraini presence in organizing major championships
