The Alliance and Development Initiative to finance projects supporting the knowledge economy

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held a meeting with the representatives of the Clarivit Foundation, in the presence of a number of leaders of the ministry and representatives of the institution, in the Special Education Building in New Cairo.

In his speech, Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has an integrated system to support innovation that includes universities, research centers and specialized councils, noting the launch of the “National Policy for Sustainable Innovation” in February 2025, as a strategic framework aimed at transforming Egypt into an innovative and sustainable knowledge society, within the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Knowledge economy

The minister stressed that the “Alliance and Development” initiative is the support and care of President Abdel Fattah Al -Sisi, the President of the Republic, and also enjoys a continuous follow -up from the political leadership of all steps to implement it, to achieve a development boom in the various geographical regions in Egypt by creating integration of efforts between the main coalition elements (the university, industry, state, capital and entrepreneurs The seven in Egypt, and the unification of the resources and capabilities of each geographical region to work to confront the developmental and societal challenges facing this region.

Dr. Ayman Ashour explained that the initiative aims to maximize the outcomes of scientific research as an active factor to implement the Egyptian government’s work program 2024-2026, based on the formation of alliances to stimulate creativity and entrepreneurship, financing projects that support the knowledge economy, achieving sustainable development goals, and integrating efforts between the three major coalition elements, as well as exploiting the great financing that is estimated at one billion pounds in its first stage.

Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed that the Ministry’s policy supports the idea of spreading inter -special specializations programs for specializations, in order to activate this important principle in the national strategy for higher education and scientific research, because of its importance in facing contemporary challenges that require cooperation between different scientific disciplines; To reach innovative solutions in which experts related to these challenges participate.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Othman, Deputy Minister for Innovation and Scientific Research Affairs, made a presentation on the “Alliance and Development” initiative since its launch, the formation of the Board of Trustees, and the presentation dealt with the areas of development on which the initiative focuses and its goals, as well as reviewing the most important projects that it participated in and succeeded in implementing it in cooperation between universities, industry and government, in addition to a number of sub -initiatives derived from the initiative, displaying output models Successful research.

The Deputy Minister also shed light on the national strategy for sustainable innovation, which aims to enhance the role of innovation that comes at the top of the current stage priorities, in line with the state’s interest in maximizing the role of universities in developing the economy, providing a catalyst for knowledge production and promoting scientific research, and increasing cooperation between universities, industry and business society; To support the competitiveness of the state regionally and globally, and benefit from scientific research in facing economic challenges and achieving sustainable development.

The meeting dealt with a review of the Ministry’s efforts and its role in following up the improvement of Egyptian universities in various international rankings, in a way that contributes to facilitating obtaining distinguished jobs in the labor market based on the university’s reputation, in a manner that is appropriate for Egypt as a destination for education in the Middle East and Africa region, and its role in the region’s educational leadership.

The meeting also reviewed the launch of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, the Youth Researcher Academy in cooperation with the Clarivit Foundation, in a manner that ensures the integration of international best practices with the priorities of Egyptian national development, and the benefit of Clarivit’s experiences in the rules of martyrdom databases, research evaluation and academic publishing, with a focus on scientific writing, and enhancing the appearance of researchers.

The role of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank in the elevation of the classification of universities, institutions and research centers was also reviewed internationally, by providing a huge amount of scientific sources necessary for researchers, Egyptian scientists, and decision makers, in order to enhance scientific research in Egypt, and enable research institutions to become known globally as a reference for scientific research, in line with the achievement of Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030, which aims to provide education and training in order to create a generation of youth It is able to make a boom in all fields.
