Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara said, at dawn today, Thursday, that Syria had two fateful options, one of which was entering an open war with Israel, but chose to prevail over the interests of the Syrians and prevent slipping towards chaos and destruction.
Al -Shara added, in a televised speech, that his country faces continuous Israeli attempts to turn Syria into a chaos and divide it, stressing that the state will remain a protector for all its citizens, vowing to hold all those who exceeded and abused the Druze, who described them as “an inherent part of the fabric of the homeland.”
Al -Shara warned against Israel’s attempts to drag Syria into chaos and divide it, saying: “O Syrian people, we are today facing this new challenge we live in the heart of a battle aimed at protecting the unity of our country, the dignity of our people and the steadfastness of our nation.
The Israeli entity, which has always accustomed us to targeting our stability and creating temptations between us since the overthrow of the defunct regime, is now seeking to turn our pure land into an endless chaos, through which it seeks to dismantle the unity of our people and weaken our capabilities to move forward in the march of reconstruction and advancement.
He added: “Syria is not a field of experiences of external conspiracies, nor a place to implement the ambitions of others at the expense of the blood of its children and its women. The Syrian state is the state of everyone, it is the dignity and pride of the country, and it is the dream of every Syrian to see its country rebuilding itself again.
Through this country, we all unite without discrimination, in order to restore Syria, and put it at the forefront of nations that live in security and stability.
In what he described as one of the most difficult roads in the road, Al -Shara said: “The Syrian state was in front of two options: the first is to enter into an open war with Israel at the expense of the Syrian Druze and destabilize Syria and the region, and the second gave way to the dignitaries and sheikhs of the Druze to return to their senses and prevail over the national interest over those who want to discredit the people of the honorable mountain.”
He stressed that his country “is not afraid of the war, and we who spent our ages in facing challenges and defending our people, but we have presented the interests of the Syrians on chaos and destruction.
The best option at this stage was to take a precise decision to protect the unity of our country and the safety of its children, based on the supreme national interest.
In a private message to the Druze community, Al -Shara said: “In my speech, this is our people from the Druze who are an inherent part of the fabric of this country. Syria will never be a place for division, fragmentation, or sowing sedition among its children.
We assure you that protecting your rights and freedom is one of our priorities, and that we reject any endeavor that aims to drag you into an external party or to cause a division within our ranks.
We are all partners in this land, and we will not allow any category to distort this beautiful image that expresses Syria and its diversity. “
Al -Sharaa spoke about the developments of the situation in As -Suwayda, stressing: “The Syrian state has interfered with all its institutions and leaders with all will and determination to stop the internal fighting in the endosperm between armed groups from As -Suwayda and those around them from areas, following old differences.
Instead of helping the state to calm the situation, groups outside the law emerged that used to chaos, tampering and arousing sedition, and the leaders of these gangs are the same who refused to dialogue for many months, putting their narrow personal interests over the interest of the country, and in recent days they committed the crimes against civilians.
He added: “Nevertheless, the defense and interior ministries implemented a wide spread in the province of As -Suwayda, as part of their relentless efforts to control security and end the escalation situation in the region, and it succeeded in restoring stability and expelling the factions outside the law, despite the Israeli interventions,” explaining: “The Israeli entity resorted to targeting an extensive targeting of civil and government facilities to undermine stability efforts, which led to The complexity of the situation greatly and pushing matters to a widespread escalation in Syria, had it not been for the effective intervention of American, Arab and Turkish mediation that saved the region from an unknown fate.
On the government agreement in As -Suwayda, Al -Shara explained that it was decided to “assign some local factions and sheikhs of reason for the responsibility of maintaining security in As -Suwayda, stressing that this decision came based on our deep awareness of the danger of the situation on our national unity and avoiding our country’s slippage into a new widespread war that it may lead to away from its major goals in recovering from the destroyed war, and keeping it away from the political and economic difficulties left by the regime Increase.
The Sharia concluded its speech by stressing the role of the state in protecting citizens, saying: “We are keen to hold accountable those who exceeded and abused our Druze people.
We emphasize that preserving the unity, stability and integrity of our people, and working to secure the future of their children, away from any dangers that may lead the course of the advancement and recovery that we are fighting after the liberation of our country.
