The General Authority for Social Insurance announced the start of the implementation of the provisions of Article (12) of the unified system to extend insurance protection for citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries working in other than their countries in any member state in the Council, in implementation of what was stipulated in Law No. (68) of 2006, and in line with the decisions of the twenty -third meeting of the heads of civil retirement and social insurance agencies in the countries of the Cooperation Council.
The authority emphasized that this procedure comes within its commitment to activating the joint Gulf regulations and decisions, and to ensure the continuity of insurance coverage of Gulf citizens in order to preserve their insurance rights and provide a stable work environment.
The Authority also called on the employers concerned to review their insurance conditions and ensure that all the contributions due are paid, if they are found, and to ensure regular payment within the approved legal dates, as the application will include calculating additional amounts for employers in the private sector who are late to pay the insurance contributions due for citizens of the Council of the Council working in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The authority will organize a virtual workshop through visual contact during the coming period to explain the provisions of Article (12) and respond to the inquiries related to it.
The workshop link will be circulated via email and official pages of the authority.
The authority affirmed its keenness to enhance cooperation with all relevant authorities in the private sector, and to support them in the application of the insurance obligations stipulated in a way that serves the interests of business owners and the insured alike.
