In implementation of the decision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabika bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Women No. (6) of 2025 regarding the establishment of the “Women in the Media Field” committee, the Secretary -General of the Supreme Council for Women issued Decision No. (24) of 2025 to form members of the Women’s Committee in the media field, which aims to highlight the gains, achievements and giving Bahraini women, and enhance the presence of Bahraini women in the media scene inside and outside The Kingdom of Bahrain.
The decision stated that the committee is headed by Mr. Hisham Aboul Fateh, and includes in its membership representatives from the following parties: Bahrain TV, Bahrain Radio, the National Communication Center, the Bahraini Journalists Association, the Bahraini Public Relations Association, the Media College at the University of Bahrain, one of the influencers in social media, and a representative of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Women.
The decision stipulated that the committee follow up the implementation of the tasks stipulated in Article Three of Resolution No. (6) of 2025 to establish the committee, in terms of studying the reality of women working in the media field, analyzing the media content of the Women Center in TV programs and drama and various audio media, read and visual media, and social media, and proposing coordination and cooperation tools with media institutions to put means and measures to develop the women’s center in the media And proposing training, educational and awareness programs to build the capabilities of working and leadership women in the field of media to support ways to develop media skills.
The decision stated that the membership period in the committee be two years, and the committee holds its meetings periodically at the request of the president, and the committee may seek the assistance of what it deems appropriate from experienced and specialized, whether from within the General Secretariat or from outside it to attend its meetings and express opinion or advice or provide them with the necessary information that requires the performance of its work.
