Salman bin Muhammad: Work is underway to integrate the concepts of cybersecurity within the academic curricula

Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, that Bahrain is working in cooperation with educational institutions to integrate the concepts of cybersecurity into the academic curricula with the aim of building a generation that has the skills necessary to efficiently protect the national digital field.

He stressed during the press conference to announce the third edition of the Arab International Cyber Security Conference, which will be held next November, the importance of this event as a pivotal step in promoting awareness and knowledge of the field of cybersecurity. The conference will be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to confirm the decisive role of this sector in supporting the safe digital transformation in the Kingdom.

The conference represents an important strategic platform for exchanging knowledge, formulating future visions and cooperation between different sectors. It also allows the participation of leading international companies in presenting the latest innovative technical solutions, while providing training programs, specialized workshops and interactive competitions aimed at developing cyber skills and enhancing national capabilities in this growing field.

Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa pointed out that Bahrain and the region are witnessing a remarkable acceleration in digital transformation, especially in the banking sector, where relying on digital applications has become a major option for the implementation of daily transactions.

He explained that companies and institutions are increasingly dependent on modern technologies, which imposes the necessity of keeping pace with this development through the application of advanced security systems that guarantee protection from cyber threats, explaining that the National Center for Cyber Security focuses on strengthening technical cadres through specialized training programs with the aim of supporting the readiness of workers in this vital field.

He pointed out that Bahrain has a pioneering site in the field of cybersecurity at the region level thanks to the wise directives of the wise leadership, pointing to the prominent achievements that have been achieved, including the establishment of the National Center for Cyber Security and the development of a legislative and organizational framework that contributes to strengthening the cybersecurity of the various vital sectors, which ensures its ability to face the increasing technical challenges. To raise the level of awareness of cybersecurity, including the launch of educational campaigns, training courses and workshops that contribute to enhancing societal knowledge. On his part, the founder of the “Def Con” and the strategic partner of the Cyber Security Conference, Jeff Moss, expressed his admiration for Bahrain’s hosting of this international event. He stressed that the establishment of the conference represents a qualitative shift to enhance regional efforts in building a safe and sustainable digital environment, praising Bahrain’s position and leadership in adopting advanced cybersecurity strategies. He added that the “DEF Con” conference with the National Center for Cyber Security is a unique opportunity to transfer global experiences to the region and provide a platform for technical cooperation and knowledge exchange. Moss explained that the conference represents a space for dialogue between cybersecurity experts and discussing practical initiatives aimed at enhancing the readiness of infrastructure and supporting local capacity building to confront the growing cyber risks. He also pointed to Bahrain’s ambitious vision towards building a safe digital society that supports sustainable development, and achieves a balance between technical development and security protection. Bahrain will host the third edition of the Arab International Cybranic Security Conference and Exhibition (2025 AICS) during the period from 5 to 6 November at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center. A group of experts and decision makers will participate in the conference, in addition to representatives of government and private agencies from different countries of the world. On the sidelines of the press conference, a strategic partnership has been announced with the global “Def Con” conference to enhance the experience of participants and expand the artistic content provided. The partnership includes the organization of innovative events such as “Def Con” that provides practical experiences in major areas of artificial intelligence and industrial control and cloud computing systems, in addition to practical laboratories dedicated to displaying innovations and research projects in front of international experts. The press conference also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the National Center for Cyber Security and the Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies “BIBF”, aimed at enhancing efforts Cooperation in capacity building in the field of cybersecurity by organizing specialized training programs to qualify the current and future national competencies in the next conference. Defcon Group Bahrain, a society that brings together the most important experts, students and those interested in digital safety and cyber flexibility, and focuses on discussing the most prominent practices of cybersecurity defensive in Bahrain.
